As regards Chinese, Washington will presumably inform General Wedemeyer of proposal that British force should go to Hong Kong; and as colony is in China theatre the General will presumably inform his Supreme Commander, Chiang-kai-shek. from here, therefore it would seem that time has come for His Majesty's Government to declare at first hand their intentions for Hong Kong to Chinese Government and that best channel for this communication might be to Chinese Ambassador at London.
